6. WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The role is predominantly field based with occasional time required at central or regional offices.
  • This role requires occasional travel and overnight stays in hotels when working away from home. While not a regular occurrence, employees should be prepared to travel as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Additionally, the position includes participation in a weekend on-call rota, where engineers may be required to attend site at short notice. Flexibility and a willingness to respond to urgent requirements are essential for this role.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as an Automation Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or similar role within the gate automation, roller shutter door, or powered pedestrian door industries.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills with basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of automation manufacturers such as Parking Facilities, Eagle Automation, COVA , FAAC, BFT, etc.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults effectively.
  • Experience working with low-voltage systems, safety circuits, and access control devices (intercoms, keypads, RFID, ANPR).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and circuit diagrams.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DHF or ADSA Qualifications.
  • Electrical qualifications (e.g., BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
  • CSCS / IPAF / PASMA certification (preferred but not essential).
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
