JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, particularly in the areas of plastics injection moulding and tooling. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in continuous improvement initiatives and will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Siemens PLC programming knowledge essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, is essential.
  • Experience with schematics design and automation systems is required.
  • Knowledge of plastics injection moulding processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tooling design and manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation systems using CAD software, including AutoCAD, to create detailed schematics.
  • Implement and maintain logic controllers for automated processes, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within existing systems and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to enhance processes related to plastics injection moulding and tooling.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on automated systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards in all designs and implementations.
