Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a full-time, on-site position focused on the development of controls and software for a wide range of projects in both entertainment and industrial sectors-including ride and show control, manufacturing systems, and robotics. The role is based in Orlando, FL, but may involve domestic and international travel depending on project locations. While the work is engaging and fulfilling, it can also be fast-paced and deadline-driven.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to diagnose high-level system issues
  • Proficiency in Ladder Logic or Structured Text programming
  • Experience with at least one of the following platforms:
  • Rockwell (Studio 5000 or RSLogix)
  • Siemens (TIA Portal or Step 7)
  • Beckhoff (TwinCAT)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Background in safety systems and entertainment technologies
  • Experience in system and/or electrical design
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and hazard analysis
  • Drive/VFD commissioning expertise
  • Knowledge of motion control systems
  • Real-time software development experience
  • State machine programming
  • Proficiency in C/C++, C#, or Python
  • Network design and implementation
  • HMI development using platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, or similar
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement control software for entertainment and industrial applications
  • Conduct on-site testing, troubleshooting, and system adjustments
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Collaborate with project teams, including Prism Systems staff and client representatives
  • Travel may exceed 25%, depending on project needs and locations
