• Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
• Programming skills in PowerShell and C#.
• Knowledge of Cisco UCS, VMWare, Linux, and Windows systems.
• Understanding of basic networking principles such as VLANs, Subnets, TCP/IP, OSI Model.
• Understanding of physical server hardware components such as racks, chassis, blades, or rack mount servers, especially Cisco UCS.
• Experience and understanding of APIs and infrastructure setup using industry standard tools and workflows, including JIRA, Git etc.
• Understanding and experience of automation of Agile workflows and working with databases
• Experience in engineering and supporting large-scale geographically distributed infrastructure systems.
• Good written and spoken English is mandatory
• To be a team player who can and willing to share ideas and technical knowledge with the team members.

YOUR TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is within the Technology team and reports to the Head of Platform Engineering. The main goal is to bring automation capabilities for platform and connected systems across multiple data centers. The Automation Engineer will also be involved in architectural design sessions and implementation decisions and solutions programming mostly on Windows platforms. The role requires close collaboration with multiple infrastructure teams as well as internal clients. The role also requires good skills in architectural understanding of complex systems and proactive algorithmic thinking.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and implement solutions for platform architecture processes and connected systems.
• Design, create and improve modules to extend the current automation system using mostly PowerShell and C#
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Work alongside colleagues across automation and cross-functional teams to implement correct principles
• Develop and manage automation scripts/tools using REST API
• Create reporting from scripting and API calls to Infrastructure platforms
• Maintain and optimize the Windows server environment
• Execute POCs and feasibility studies to validate next-gen product concepts and technologies leveraging results to guide business and technology decisions.
• Maintain a deep technical understanding of datacenter technologies including Microsoft System Center, VMware, Cisco UCS and Kubernetes
• Resolution, analysis and root cause analysis of failures and potential issues of the automation and connected systems.
• Maintain technical documentation.
• Support and assist Build and Deploy teams.
• Accountable for the integration and maintenance of various enterprise services and applications.
