Job Description Could you be our Site SME for all Automation / Control Systems? Are you an experienced Automation Engineer looking for a new challenge? Look no further! Valeo Foods UK, a manufacturer of some of the UK’s best loved snacks and confectionery, is looking for a new member of the team! Our Wallingford site is looking for an Automation Engineer to improve the performance of the site through reduced downtime and improved OEE, using continuous improvement to deliver results. Responsibilities will include: Own and maintain the automation and controls systems on site Ensure all software is documented, updated and backed up on site Create and own the software database and pc system, hardware Mentor site engineers in software changes, modifications Attend site breakdowns and assist engineers on complex site breakdowns Assist in calibration of site control systems, flow meters, sensors, temperature controllers Responsible for making continuous improvements to the running of the machinery. Running and owning control system projects including CAPEX projects Ensure obsolete equipment is replaced at suitable frequencies ensuring site exposure risk is mitigated To work and maintain good safety GMP and food manufacturing standards and codes of practice. Qualifications Qualifications, Skills and Experience Previous in depth Automation / Controls / Electrical Engineering experience HNC / Degree in Electrical / Controls Engineering or equivalent with Engineering Apprenticeship Working knowledge of plcs, Allen Bradley, RS Logix 500/5000, Siemens TIA Portal, S300-400, Mitsubishi, SCADA Able to prove competency in all forms of isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry Experience of FMCG operations PC Literate (thereby able to use computer-based maintenance systems) Flexibility Health and Safety driven Able to strip machines in full and reassemble them, as well as completing machine size change procedures and their adjustments Additional Information Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday What we offer you in return: Matched pension scheme Death in service Cycle to work scheme Canteen Retailer discount platform Staff discount And plenty more!!
Responsibilities
