Your primary responsibilities as an Automation Engineer would be to support production by independently addressing technical problems with automation all equipment with the goal of reducing machine downtime. We’re looking for someone to continuously support and lead the setup and launches of new projects for automation lines and automation projects.

Along with the following task expectations:

• Use a combination of mechanical, electrical, computer and software skills to work with smart technologies, such as robots, automated guided systems and computer-integrated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshooting / solving / repairing issues on automation lines
• Supporting production to improve uptime of production equipment
• Setting up and performing changes on machines and automated systems based on directions given
• Supporting mechanical projects
• Set-up of automation lines and pneumatic- or hydraulic control systems
• Responsible for maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs of existing equipment
• Giving input during new equipment design and build phase
• Training of employees on appropriate equipment and machines as needed
• Optimizing machine cycle time and none-conforming product output
• Carry out assigned job duties dutifully and independently
• Independently create wiring circuit diagrams and control programs for automated processes
• Carry out all electric work and fine tuning required by the assembly line
• Supporting new projects during development activities and production ramp-up phase
• Supporting preventive maintenance system activities
• Developing and supporting iwis’s spare parts management system
• Communication with co-workers
• Documenting work performed on daily basis
• Developing documentation for predictive and preventive maintenance programs of automation lines including supplier specific maintenance direction
• Developing and documenting spare part lists for automation lines (new projects and current lines)
• Supporting of Technical Competency Team during the RFQ phase of new potential projects (scope of work)
