POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a well-rounded Automation or Mechatronics Engineer to support automation systems across our Western Pennsylvania facilities. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role requiring experience across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting equipment, modifying control systems, and contributing to new project designs and installations. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining and improving equipment that supports our 24/7 medical manufacturing operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation or manufacturing engineering
  • Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI development, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with industrial robotics, including setup, programming, or troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with AC (up to 480V) and DC (12–24V) systems
  • Experience with vision systems (Keyence, Cognex, or similar) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field is a plus, but not required

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • FANUC robot programming and teach pendant experience
  • Experience in medical or cleanroom manufacturing
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Innovative problem-solving and system-level thinking

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and modify PLCs (primarily Allen-Bradley); support new project designs as needed
  • Integrate and support robotic systems (FANUC experience preferred)
  • Collaborate on system improvements and new equipment installations
  • Provide hands-on support for mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Assist with equipment validation and documentation in a regulated environment
  • Support production teams across multiple shifts and locations
