Reports to: Automation Production Supervisor Department: Automation Job Summary: This position exists to operate various automated machinery for Bal Seal Engineering manufacturing clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines * Uses computer-controlled, and/or manually-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines * Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion * Works under the close direction of tenured personnel in the functional area * Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job * Observes while the machine is being repaired by a Technician * Observes and follows all safety protocols * Learns the use of precision measuring tools * Perform daily housekeeping operations in the work area to maintain a safe workplace * Perform other related duties as assigned Education: * High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience: * 1 year of automation operation experience preferred, not required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Must be able to promote and work in a highly collaborative environment * Ability to perform in a medium to fast-paced environment Physical Requirements: * Occasionally required to bend, stoop, and squat * Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds * Required to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and products * Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse, and be able to sit for long periods at his/her desk * Occasionally visit employees throughout the building to gather data and clarify information Work Environment: The work environment conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderate; however, hearing protection may be required if employees enter high noise areas as a part of their normal job duties.
