Description JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Production Manager, and a member of the Production Team you will be primarily focused on Automation support. This includes fulfilling incoming linear rail orders by means of tracking material inventory, cutting material, deburring, cleaning, assembling, and packaging per established standard processes. Also responsible for assisting other in-house automation production needs on a case-by-case basis. These products are to be completed to acceptance test procedures and routing operations. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Contributes to a positive working culture, builds strong relationships, and lives out the values of integrity, collaboration, and accountability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Automation Maintain linear rail inventory through Tribute system. Work with inside Sales and Engineering as needed. Cutting Linear Ball Rail Deburring, cleaning, assembling, and packaging product per the established standard processes. Assisting in other Automation production needs Fabricate Parts Position and assemble parts according to special instructions, routings, and blueprints. Measure parts to specified tolerances. Deburrs, grinds, and buffs parts. Operate pneumatic tools, and hand tools to aid in assembly. Write special instructions for assembly of products per blueprint. Bend tubes to customer specifications from ¼” up to 1 ¼” Welding of brackets, tubes, and beams, fill holes, and check for leaks once completed. Inspect Parts Inspect all parts for cleanliness and flaws. If flaws exist, completes Nonconforming Material Report Receive parts for each job from stock room. Send assembled products to test and/or quality assurance final inspection. Repair nonconforming products. Clean, assemble, disassemble, and replace parts as required. Return all unused parts to stock. Assembly Record time on labor sheets for each process of assembly Pipe fitting Receive job package consisting of final card, special instructions, blueprint, and acceptance test procedures for each job. Send assembled products to test and/or quality assurance final inspection. Operate pneumatic tools, and hand tools to aid in assembly. Use chemicals, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, epoxies, paints, and inks, as required. Keep assembly department clean and free of foreign object damage. Keep production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. Clerical/General Administrative Respond to routine emails, phone calls, etc. Make copies, print documents, etc. File paperwork An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of shop equipment Heavy lifting and carrying of supplies, parts, etc. Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around a shop environment. Ability to analyze unique situations and develop appropriate response. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex hydraulic and electrical schematics. Additional Mental Requirements: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret. Working Hours/Environment Office hours average 40 per week; may require additional hours including evening and weekends depending on business needs. Work typical performed in an indoor shop environment. Standard business hours for production are 6:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Tools and Equipment Used Basic hand tools including but not limited to; allen wrenches, hammers, wrenches, angle grinders, power tools, and air tools. Basic knowledge of machining equipment, such as drill presses and chop saws Basic knowledge with Tribute or another Inventory Management system Travel Minimal- up to 10% of the time in instances such as Installations or picking up supplies. Requirements High School Diploma/GED One-year related experience including assembly, soldering, and blueprint reading/training. OR equivalent combination of education and experience
