We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Technical Specialist to contribute to our software engineering space and provide critical skills required for the development of cutting-edge products. As an Automation Software Engineer, this team member will play a key role in driving the Automation First Framework. You will be a partner with operations and onboarding teams to identify areas where tasks should be automated, including their design and implementation. You will drive efforts to ensure that the automations enabled are efficient, highly available and supported. Key responsibilities may include: Responsible for evaluating and implementing orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with a higher level of accuracy and reduced defects Advance the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems Drive the modification, documentation, and maintenance of software to ensure high reliability and availability Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address advanced technical challenges and optimize application performance Analyze system requirements and deliver innovative technical solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency Complete code reviews and automated testing to maintain high-quality code standards Collaborate and co-create effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiative with business objectives At Kyndryl, we value effective communication and collaboration skills. You will maintain and drive the clearing of technical debt, vulnerabilities, and currency of the 3rd party components within the product. As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will also coach and mentor engineers to design and implement highly available, secure, distributed software in a scalable architecture. Required Technical and Professional Expertise 6+ years of varied experience in software engineering in a professional environment such as Java or Python. Knowledge of distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, NoSQL, and relational databases Knowledge of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s) Software engineering and development experience or related job Experience in application design, software development, and automated testing Previous experience with implementing large scale automations like self-healing, pod scaling, job retriggers, component-based testing Experience in object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment and their frameworks, Github, Jenkins, Build and Deployment pipelines. Practical experience on implementation various system integration solutions, such as, APIs and Data integration layers (Batch & Real-Time) like Kafka, Solace. Proven understanding of cloud native principles: service discovery, circuit breakers, observability, distributed tracing, automation, and monitoring tools Experience in automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance) Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Soft skills – analytical thinking, curiosity, continuous learning and improvement attitude Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Public Cloud certification is a plus Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud DevOps knowledge for highly available IT infrastructure. Experience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories Experience in designing and coding for automation and troubleshooting purposes across multiple platforms and languages such as Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and .NET Building live production APIs and services. Experience with relevant business domain related functions. Prior experience with Mainframe automation is a plus.
