SUMMARY

We are recruiting for an Automation Specialist Co-op Student for a minimum 8-month term with our Project & Solutions Operations team, starting in January 2026, based at our Burnaby Automation Centre. Reporting to the Manager, Projects and Lifecycle Services, you will work within a project team, providing support to several Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and System Integration solutions. Duties may include system testing and start-up, system design, control design, network integration, configuration, develop test reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Current student in Electrical or Chemical Engineering; or Instrumentation Engineering Technology
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs; Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Experience with DeltaV (hardware/software) is an asset
  • 3D CAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical experience an asset
  • Demonstrated customer service and sales skills in an industrial environment an asset
  • Working knowledge of Process Control hardware and software
  • Solid technical problem solving skills
  • Strong communication, time management and computer skills
  • Collaborative team player with sound work principles
  • Excellent office organizational and operational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
  • This position has been deemed as Safety Sensitive – successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test
