ROLE SUMMARY
SEARCH is looking for a technical individual with creative problem-solving and exceptional interpersonal skills. Prospective candidates will be working with and taking guidance from industry professionals on a daily basis. Applicants should be independent and resilient individuals with the ability to work in the weather extremes Oklahoma has to offer. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at elevation and in confined spaces as needed.
This full-time position will be based out of SEARCH’s Norman office, Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm and on the road as individual jobs require. After-hours emergency availability with overtime will be required, though not anticipated. Overnight travel may be required, depending on the job location. Per diem is available for overnight travel. Hourly wage starts at $28/hour and is negotiable based on job-related skills, knowledge, and experience in the industry. The role is eligible for a discretionary, company-performance-based bonus in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
Applicants should be familiar with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and other automation equipment design, programming software, installation, repair, and maintenance. SEARCH is looking for an individual who can integrate input/output data into new and existing control systems for water and wastewater utility systems. Ideal candidates will be well-organized, independent problem-solvers who can manage multiple systems and projects from design conception all the way through end-of-life decommissioning. This role will be the first of its kind at SEARCH, and a subordinate assistant/technician role may be added in the future as warranted. As this is a foundational role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the growth of the automation department, including mentoring future hires. A company vehicle, tools, computer, and PPE will be provided (to be returned at the end of the day unless on overnight travel).
