Description

We are looking for an Automation/System Engineer with a solid background in industrial automation systems and electrical engineering to join our team at Prysmian Group.
Based at our headquarters in Milan, Italy, and with frequent travel to various Prysmian plants, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving investment projects aimed at enhancing the plants’ capabilities and capacities.
As a key member of the team, reporting to the CAPEX Manager of the Business Unit Transmission, you will be responsible for defining technical specifications, collaborating with suppliers, overseeing the installation of new machinery and systems. You will ensure smooth integration of automation and electrical systems across all production lines. Your role will be pivotal in driving the successful integration of new technologies, ensuring efficiency and reliability across all operations.
Who Are We Looking For?
As an Automation/Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility will be managing and improving control and automation systems across various production lines for high voltage cable factories. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate and optimize electrical systems, ensuring smooth operations across all the production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, integration, and optimization of control and automation systems across all production lines involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and standardization of automation and electrical systems with new and existing production technologies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in the selection, installation, and commissioning of automation systems, control panels, electrical equipment, and PLC systems.
  • Ensure all control and automation systems comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and standardization of automation and electrical systems with new and existing production technologies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in the selection, installation, and commissioning of automation systems, control panels, electrical equipment, and PLC systems.
  • Ensure all control and automation systems comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineer, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical systems design
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in automation systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Team player mentality
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 70% of the time)
  • Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages (French, German, Finnish) is a plus
  • Passion for industrial environments
  • Experience with industrial processes, cable manufacturing, or other industrial production lines is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery
  • Knowledge of additional languages (French, German, Finnish) is a plus
