JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to lead our Automation team. The Automation Team Leader is responsible for managing the day-to-day production priorities within the department in accordance with the production schedule. In this role you will report to Production Manager and liaise with Engineering on technical issues and improvements to tooling.

• Manage and execute the production requirements for automation team to ensure clear priorities and achieve on time delivery to the customer.
• Attending Scheduling meetings with other Team members to share information of status of automation requirements and to make any changes to priorities to ensure plated stock available for required sales.
• Ensuring safety is the top priority and look at ways to improve health & safety, highlighting and escalating any issues within the department including the proper use of PPE.
• Ensuring 5S standards are maintained within the molding/automation areas.
• Attending MRB (scrap) meetings and working with the Quality team and automation team to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise any repeated tooling issues.
• Attend morning communication meetings with production team to ensure any safety or quality and production issues are known to the full team.
• Managing holidays for the automation team and dealing with any minor people related issues (including disciplinary) in conjunction with HR.
• Co-ordinating with the Relevant department Team Leader in regards to any technical issues as they arise in Molding/Stamping/Plating or Engineering support.
• Responsible for maintaining stock levels of spares for all automation cells (both buying and manufacturing)
• Work with Engineering to review new projects before manufacturing process begins.
• Oversee transfer of any new projects in automation and deliver training to automation team on day-to-day running.
• Drive improvements on existing cells in conjunction with Engineering to deliver efficiency gains and cost reductions.
