Valor supports American warfighters by designing and producing reliable, cartridge-actuated devices. As an approved contractor for U.S. Navy and Air Force, we also conduct ballistic performance testing on a variety of CAD/PAD devices. Job Summary: The Automation Technician plays a critical role in supporting high-speed manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment reliability, product quality, and production efficiency. This position requires hands-on expertise in assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated systems, as well as proficiency in ERP transactions for accurate material and production tracking. Strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with peers and supervisors are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Energetic Assembly Support Lean Manufacturing and 5s initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity Follow documented and verbal directions, on-the-job training, written job instructions, and standard operating procedures Safely meet established efficiency goals such as throughput and quality of work Load, unload, and operate automated assembly machinery Support production on mechanical systems and electronics in a high-speed manufacturing environment Report delays, shortages, and other production issues through chain of command as needed Accurately complete forms and documentation such as production travelers and process logs Ensure machines are clean and operating within standard operating parameters Conduct daily equipment checks and preventative maintenance as required Accurately monitor machine parameters to ensure quality and productivity Troubleshoot automated equipment to minimize downtime and scrap Collaborate with engineering to provide input during complex troubleshooting activities and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues efficiently Perform timely completion of equipment changeovers and repairs to minimize production downtime Demonstrate good time management skills while multitasking Communicate any production issues through chain of command Execute ERP transactions for scrap reporting, labor tracking, and picking materials All other duties as assigned Quality Ensure a 2% or less overall non-conforming parts / scrap rate is maintained by the packaging team Maintain traceability of work product Perform inspections using applicable tools and equipment Maintain cleanliness, verify calibration, and proactively identify wear of inspection tooling Ensure that all products meet quality standards and report potential non-conformances Identify, mark, and segregate non-conforming material and product Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety Safety Wear appropriate PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, or respirators, as required by the specific job and work environment Strictly adhere to all company-specific safety procedures, legal regulatory requirements, and established emergency response plans Ability to identify potential hazards, report unsafe practices or conditions, and suggest safer alternatives Benefits: We offer a competitive compensation package, including salary, performance-based incentives, health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities. VISION: Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Near vision includes clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less to work with small objects or read small/fine print, including use of computers. This position will work Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. This position will remain open through noon (MST) on March 5, 2026. Role will be closed sooner if successfully filled.
