Description
This role will provide technical solutions to ensure the plant operates efficiently, minimizing downtime for automated machinery, robotics, and control systems through proactive maintenance and root cause analysis. This position reports to the engineering department while also supporting the maintenance and production teams. Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated systems and design, help implement automation for already established machinery. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all automated equipment malfunctions, including PLCs, robotic systems and other control systems. Comprehend electric/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints. Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on presses and other plant equipment. Continuous learning and updating skills to adapt to new machinery, technology and processes. Complete requisitions to facilitate ordering of parts and maintenance supplies as used/needed. Working knowledge of a CMMS (Computerized Maint. Management System) is a plus. Ability to work well with all other teammates, provide proper training and create/maintain documentation for automation projects. Must display professional conduct and have good communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal). Adhere to all plant safety requirements to ensure compliance with MESH and OSHA regulations. Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts. Minimum of High School Diploma and/or GED from an accredited institution + 3 years in Automation, Controls and Robotics experience OR Associates Degree in Industrial Automation and/or PLC Programming. No relocation is being offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the South Bend, IN facility. Active Duty Military is exempt from this geographical limitation. Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Automation, Controls and Robotics from an accredited institution Three (3) years of electrical/automation Allen Bradley PLC experience Ability to work all shifts and flexibility to train teammates on other shifts Able to lift up to 40 lbs
