Description

Seeking an Automation Technician for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Southbridge, MA.
This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!
Pay is between $31 - $35 per hour (based on experience)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Trade school or equivalent technical training preferred, with a focus in mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in automation, PLC programming, robotics, and related systems.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of automated and robotic equipment
  • Complex electrical systems and NEC compliance
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Automated conveyors and controls
  • Diagnostic software and tools
  • NFPA 70E Arc Flash training preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions.
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, and CNC machinery.
  • Effective communicator, able to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
  • Skilled in safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and adaptability to evolving technologies.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, and bend.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds when necessary.
  • Good manual dexterity for precision work.
  • Vision of 20/40 or better (with corrective lenses if needed).
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all automated equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of robotic and facility equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Diagnose and repair automation equipment, including CNC machines, robotics, and plant systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and control systems using a systematic approach.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and communicate findings daily.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust work schedules as needed to accommodate production priorities and non-standard maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure security and proper care of company tools, diagnostic devices, and maintenance equipment.
