Ko mātou tēnei | This is Us This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Intermediate Automation Tester to join our Customer 360 tīma (team). This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington and is a permanent, full time position. We operate in a hybrid environment, you would have three days in the office per week, and two days where you can work flexibly. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We sat down with our Engineering Lead (Who you'll report to), and they let us know the following about the tūranga. What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this tūranga will complete? Technical Expertise: Create automation test framework, prepare the automation test scripts, and execute and maintain them. Strategic thinking: Design scalable automation frameworks, implementing shift-left testing, and ensuring high test coverage. Problem Solving: Handling flaky test, debugging efficiently, and optimizing test execution for faster feedback. Leadership & Collaboration: Mentoring juniors, collaborating with engineers, and improving the automation strategies to align with business goal. Business Impact : Reducing the manual effort, improving release cycle & quality and tracking key metrics like defect leakage and automation ROI. What is the tīma culture and environment like? What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity? This role will give the person an opportunity to work on applications that support front line staff to meet target sales. They will lead the automation testing capability for the team and have complete autonomy on how we can increase efficiencies/accuracies and cost-effectiveness. They will also provide and contribute to the wider automation testing capability within the organisation. What will success look like for the candidate in this tūranga? Success for this role will extend beyond simply building out automating test cases and suites, it will result in more a more efficient, reliable, and higher-quality software development lifecycle for the whole team. It will require the person to be a team player to achieve this with the ability to also mentor and grow others. They will also build relationships with other automation tester peers to build the test capability. What specific tech skills would be beneficial? We are looking for detail oriented and experienced Intermediate Automation Tester who has experience in writing, maintaining, debugging automation tests using Playwright and Rest-Assured. You will also bring: 3+ Years proven experience designing and creating automation frameworks using Playwright, JS/TypeScript, CI/CD, AWS, Bitbucket, git, Confluence, Jira, and Jenkins. Strong Java skills in automation testing experience with Java microservices. Strong experience in test automation framework, especially for API testing (Rest Assured, postman). Experience in Cypress and Playwright framework, and CI/CD integration. Experience in testing integration solutions on AWS / Azure. Experience in Banking or financial services with good analysis and problem solving skills. Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
