Description
Job Title: Automations / Product Engineer Job Type: Full-time; Remote Schedule: US Time zone Industry: Creator/Affiliate Marketing Software About the Role: We’re looking for an Automations / Product Engineer to own our Discovery area — the place where brands find and connect with creators and ambassadors. You’ll be responsible for the data backbone behind that experience: scrapers, automations, integrations, and the systems that keep everything fresh and searchable. This role blends data engineering, backend development, and product thinking. You’ll work closely with the founders and product team to bring new creator data sources online, keep the system stable, and make discovery smarter over time. What You’ll Own: Our Discovery area — powering how brands find creators. Scrapers, automations, discovery engine, and data refresh systems. Overall uptime and reliability of discovery data. What Matters: Uptime and performance of the discovery system. Number of creators brands are connecting with. Speed and accuracy of data refreshes and scrapers. What You’ll Do: Build and maintain scrapers and integrations for social and creator data. Normalize, clean, and store data so it’s searchable and useful in-product. Integrate data pipelines with Growi’s Rails-based core product. Collaborate with product and founders to scope new data sources and automations. Monitor and improve uptime, scaling scrapers and queues as usage grows. What You Need to Know: Strong backend skills — ideally in Rails; if not, excellent in Python and comfortable working in a Rails environment. Experience with queues, workers, and schedulers (e.g., Sidekiq, Celery, or similar). Hands-on experience with web scraping, APIs, or automation pipelines. Understanding of data normalization, storage, and retrieval for searchable systems. 2–4+ years of experience actually shipping and maintaining production systems. Degree not required — we care about what you’ve built. Scrappy, resourceful, and independent — can figure things out quickly. Comfortable working directly with founders and product leads. Excited to build systems that connect brands and creators at scale.
