POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Associate plays a key role in the dealership’s Business Office by managing core accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger reconciliations, and Financial Statement preparation support. This role requires a higher level of accounting knowledge to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in dealership operations, while also assisting in process improvements and internal controls.
Pay Range: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (Automotive or dealership accounting highly preferred)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent accounting coursework/experience)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience with general ledger reconciliations and financial statement support strongly preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Post and reconcile daily contract funding, including deal and reserve adjustments
  • Process and reconcile product cancellations (GAP refunds, customer refunds, accounting entries)
  • Perform monthly bank and schedule reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across multiple accounts
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements
  • Supporting billing of wholesale purchases, customer checks, and intercompany transactions
  • Maintain and reconcile vendor schedules, payables, receivables, and inventory accounts
  • Monitor lender funding, ensuring timely receipt and accurate application
  • Partner with the Controller to support internal audits, process improvements, and compliance with GAAP and dealership policies
  • Collaborate with the Title & Billing team to review documentation and verify deal compliance
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
