COMPANY DESCRIPTION

CS Group Canada, a subsidiary of CS Group and part of the Sopra Steria group, is a catalyst for functional safety and cybersecurity in companies developing critical embedded technologies (avionics, autonomous driving, transportation electrification). Our clients include original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers in the aerospace, automotive, defense, and railway sectors, seeking functional safety (ISO 26262, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP-4761, ARP-4754, EN50128) and cybersecurity (DO-326A, ISO 21434, UN-R155) certifications to bring their technologies to market.

JOB DESCRIPTION

CS Group Canada is looking for an Expert Automotive Aerodynamics Engineer to support our clients in developing the aerodynamics of their next-generation vehicles. This key role will focus on optimizing exterior aerodynamics to enhance performance, energy efficiency, and consumption, tailored to the specific drive cycles of robotaxis.

  • Lead aerodynamics development for exterior surfaces and define active aerodynamic enablers.
  • Guide CFD engineers, design studio teams, and cross-functional departments in achieving optimal aerodynamic performance.
  • Lead aerodynamic design efforts and provide strategic recommendations to company leadership.
  • Define and direct wind tunnel testing strategies to validate aerodynamic improvements.
  • Educate internal teams on the role of aerodynamics in vehicle architecture and performance.
  • Collaborate with the energy team to optimize aerodynamics for real-world energy consumption in robotaxi applications.
  • Provide technical leadership in tire aerodynamics and aero drag interactions with cooling airflow.
  • Recommend shutter designs to balance cooling efficiency and aerodynamic drag.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Extensive expertise in automotive aerodynamics fundamentals.
  • Proven experience leading vehicle aerodynamics development, preferably at a major OEM.
  • Strong background in CFD analysis, wind tunnel testing, and active aerodynamics.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and translate aerodynamic insights into vehicle design decisions.
  • Experience in aero-energy optimization for electric or autonomous vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) reduction techniques in electric powertrains.
  • Experience with thermal modeling and efficiency optimization in electric propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations related to electric vehicles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize motor performance and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
