Description
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled CFD Engineer with deep expertise in two-phase flow modeling to join our Underbody Systems team. This role focuses on developing and validating advanced CFD methodologies for lubrication, cooling, and multiphase fluid interaction phenomena in transmissions, electric drive units, axles, and related automotive systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with STAR-CCM+, strong knowledge of turbulence modeling, and a proven ability to correlate CFD results with physical testing. This position requires innovation in simulation method development, not just execution of existing workflows. Key Responsibilities Develop high-quality CAD models and meshes for CFD simulations. Design and implement CFD methods for multiphysics applications including two-phase flow, conjugate heat transfer (CHT), and turbulence. Translate system requirements into actionable CFD method development plans. Conduct advanced CFD simulations for automotive powertrain and e-drive applications. Plan and coordinate physical tests to validate CFD methodologies. Perform correlation and refinement of CFD results with physical test data. Automate CFD workflows using Python and Java scripting. Communicate findings through clear presentations and technical reports. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years of hands-on CFD modeling and method development in automotive or related industries. Minimum 3 years of experience in two-phase flow modeling (e.g., oil-air interaction, cooling sprays, cavitation). Expertise in STAR-CCM+ for simulation and method development. Strong background in turbulence modeling (RANS, LES, DES). Experience in CFD-to-test correlation and validation. Proficiency in CAD preparation and meshing. Scripting and automation using Python and Java. Familiarity with CAE tools and Teamcenter. Preferred Skills Experience with Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). 1D modeling experience (1–3 years). Exposure to cross-functional project support in product development environments. Education Requirements Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Why Join Us: Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a dynamic and innovative environment. Collaborative and inclusive company culture. Competitive salary and benefits package. Professional development and growth opportunities.
