Job Title: Assistant Controller
Reports to: Controller
Position Overview: We are seeking a driven Assistant Controller to oversee and ensure the precision of our financial statements. The position will be instrumental in implementing robust compliance measures and managing essential controls to support our financial objectives. This role is pivotal in handling cash, factory receivables, reserves, finance product remittances, and overseeing product cancellations. Exceptional growth opportunities!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures
  • Hires, trains, and supervises office personnel
  • Reconcile all bank accounts daily
  • Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management
  • Reconciles select accounts monthly which may include floorplan, bank, finance reserves, manufacturer statements, accounts payable etc
  • Ensures all finance product sales documents are reported and paid on a timely basis each month
  • Assists with preparation of North Carolina sales tax returns in a timely, accurate manner
  • Prepares sales commission/chargeback detail reports
  • Assists the controller to complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer’s format and time frame
  • Closes month by processing accounting month-end
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Attending managers’ meetings as requested.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years automotive accounting experience
  • Preferably experienced with CDK DMS system,
