A good knowledge of the processes, techniques and materials used in painting automotive and construction equipment; a good knowledge of the proper methods of preparing automotive equipment for painting; a good knowledge of the proper methods of caring for spray guns and other auto painting equipment and materials; a good knowledge of safety precautions required in performing the work of the trade; a working knowledge of safe work practices and Safety Orders of the California Division of Industrial Safety pertinent to painting; general knowledge of stencilling; skill in the use of spray guns and other auto painting equipment; the ability to mix and match paints; the ability to prepare auto body surfaces for painting; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions; Completion of a recognized three-year apprenticeship or the attain meant of a journey-level rank as an auto painter or five years of experience as an auto painter helper is required.
Collect job orders and the necessary materials/ tools/ equipment, to carry out the repairs on the customer’s vehicles in accordance with the company’s standard and specification.
Ensure quality welding and fabrication is done for the vehicles and time allocated for the repairs has been utilized effectively. Report to the Body shop Team leader of any delays/difficulty in repairs.
Repair body panels and minor structural damage
Replace major welded panels
Carry out vehicle body and under frame alignment
Carry out vehicle chassis measurement (CAR-O-LINER) and major sectional repair.
Ensure all additional repairs are authorized, parts are booked to the repair order and warranty parts are retained to facilitate audit processes
Follow workplace occupational health and safety procedures
Remove and replace vehicle body panels, panel sections and ancillary fittings
Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment.
Salary is 2200 to 2800 AED
