Due to a growing workload and strong partnerships with major clients, Hycraft Automotive is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Electrical, Air Conditioning and Diagnostics Technician to join our dynamic team in Clontarf, Queensland.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone with a strong electrical and diagnostics background who:

  • Has exceptional fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Is confident working with modern vehicle electronics and climate control systems
  • Has a “fix it right the first time” mindset
  • Takes pride in their workmanship and attention to detail
  • Can work independently and within a team
  • Communicates well with team members and customers

  • Has basic computer literacy for service software and documentation

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive diagnostics and electrical repair
  • Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Proven experience in servicing and repairing vehicle air conditioning systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems
  • Current QLD Manual Driver’s Licence
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is focused on automotive electrical diagnostics, air conditioning service and repair, and advanced fault finding across a wide range of makes and models. You’ll also contribute to general repairs and preventative maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems
  • Service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems
  • Perform diagnostics using scan tools and other diagnostic equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve vehicle performance issues
  • Assist with other mechanical tasks such as suspension, brakes, and steering when required
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports
  • Follow all OH&S policies and procedures
