JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Lighting Electronics Developer / System Integration Engineer to deliver both series and prototype automotive lighting electronics and software solutions for Bentley vehicles. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and VW Group partners to ensure high-quality, on-time, and budget-compliant delivery of lighting system functions and architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop electrical system software and functional requirements based on vehicle specifications.
  • Integrate lighting systems into the vehicle electrical architecture.
  • Work with VW Group counterparts to develop and understand lighting functions (e.g., low beam, high beam, indicators).
  • Manage software release schedules in line with calibration maturity and build milestones.
  • Execute validation testing on vehicles and hardware rigs.
  • Support departments such as Production Planning, Certification, and Aftersales in issue resolution.
  • Oversee supplier management and liaison with VW Group colleagues.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and contribute to concept development.
  • Assist in project planning and FuSi (Functional Safety) implementation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Background: Previous experience in automotive lighting electronics or system integration.
  • Education: Degree in automotive electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication networks (e.g., CAN, LIN, Flexray).
  • Experience with diagnostic tools (e.g., IDEX, ODIS) or similar.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively to Germany.
  • Full driving license is essential.
  • German language skills are advantageous.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £34.40-£38.49 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Crewe CW1 3P
