Job Title: Journeyman Technician
Location: Okotoks GM
Reports To: Service Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00/year & DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable, safe driving history
  • Red Seal Automotive Journeyman Certification, Level 3 or 4 preferred (provincial certification or equivalent)
  • ICAR Certification or a willingness to become certified, preferred
  • GM Certification or a willingness to pursue certification, preferred
  • Ability to operate various automotive repair tools and heavy machinery, as required
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards and procedures that are at the foundation of the collision repair industry
  • Experience with Canadian regulatory standards and environmental safety protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
