Apply to join our team today! Job Duties: Performs preventive maintenance of automotive vehicles. Performs diagnosis, repair and/or replaces automotive vehicle safety components such as brakes, steering, stability control, and tires. Disassembles automotive vehicles, inspects parts for failure and/or wear; repairs, replaces, or rebuilds parts utilizing specialized tools and precision measuring instruments. Performs diagnosis, repair and/or replaces automotive vehicle powertrain components such as engine, transmission and transaxles. Assist Auto Technician with complex repairs and provides direction to Mechanic 1 and Auto Service Workers. All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification. Requirements / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Eighth grade education or equivalent plus three years practical work experience in auto mechanics or vocational technical school and auto related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Requires certification from the Automotive Services Excellence(ASE) as an Auto Maintenance and Light Repair Technician within one year of employment. Maintenance of certification is a condition of employment. Other: This position requires driving. As such, the incumbent must provide a valid driver's license.
