V.A.R Crows Nest Pty Ltd Crows Nest, NSW 2065 is seeking two experienced and motivated Automotive Mechanics to join our team. We’re looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for the automotive industry, take pride in their work, and bring a proactive, can-do attitude to the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair faults in engines, radiators, braking systems, transmissions (manual and automatic), and electrical systems.
  • Service and repair vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair steering, fuel injection, drive shafts, cooling systems, ignition, emission, and charging systems.
  • Check for leaks and top up or replace coolant, engine oil, brake fluid, and other necessary lubricants.
  • Replace clutches and electrical components as required.
  • Conduct test drives to confirm diagnostics and repairs.
  • Prepare accurate repair quotes and documentation.

Applicants must have:

  • Completed a relevant automotive apprenticeship or hold one of the following:
  • Trade Certificate
  • Motor vehicle tradesperson certificate
  • AQF Certificate III (with at least 2 years of on-the-job training) or AQF Certificate IV
  • or another acceptable qualification/Training
  • At least 2 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience if without a formal qualification
  • Experience with Deep diagnostics on complex ECU systems in BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, etc.
  • Experience with manufacturer-specific software like ISTA, VCDS, ODIS, or STAR Diagnostic
  • A current Driver’s License
  • The ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across European, Australian, and Japanese vehicles
  • Sound product knowledge and familiarity with diagnostic tools

Remuneration:
An annual salary of $78,000 – $92,000, plus superannuation, will be offered to the right candidate based on skills and experience.
