Metro Ford is hiring a Parts Counter Person. This front-line position in our busy parts department is responsible for helping internal and external customers.

AS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE, YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have achieved your Journeyman Parts Ticket, are currently a Parts Apprentice, or you have a desire to begin the program
  • Parts counter experience and/or related automotive experience
  • High degree of product and technical knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of tires, accessories and automotive parts
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer
  • Must be self starter and motivated to sell
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Happy to help attitude with a commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must conduct his / her self in a professional manner
  • Must have superior problem-solving skills to achieve a win-win solutions
  • Strong computer skills
  • Cash handling experience

Responsibilities Builds and maintains strong customer relations including greeting customers, handling inquiries, providing price quotes and selling parts

  • Prepares and processes necessary documentation for purchases, returns, warranty coverage and other work as required
  • Maintain knowledge of dealership product lines to ensure an understanding of customer’s requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of in stock parts, accessories and tires
  • Keep daily reports for open orders, special order parts, and contact customers when ordered parts arrive
  • Responds to customers in person, via telephone, or electronically in a timely and courteous manner; delivers strong service and salesmanship
  • Evaluating and recommending parts required based on customer or technician information
  • Looking up and locating parts in inventory or ordering parts from suppliers as per policies
  • Supports the parts needs of the shop by looking up and billing parts to work orders; reviews work orders for accuracy of parts and modifies as needed
  • Prepare estimates and order parts and accessories under tight time constraints
  • Pick parts for customers and technicians
  • Assisting customers post sale with any warranty and/or service needs
  • Explaining warranty coverage to customers (as applicable)
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and a safe, clean work environment
  • Keep desk areas clean and organized
  • Assist with inventory count and control as required
  • Following all policies and procedures as outlined by management
  • Safety shoes required

Additional Assets Able to operate fork truck/ forklift in a safe manner
