Description

The Automotive Quality Control Specialist ensures that all vehicles, parts, and processes meet established quality standards before reaching customers or moving to the next stage of production or service. This role is critical in maintaining product integrity, safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction across all areas of automotive operation—from manufacturing to repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or degree in automotive technology, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in automotive inspection, quality control, or vehicle diagnostics (can vary based on role level).
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, drivetrain, electrical, safety, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or equivalent is a plus.
  • Proficient with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers), diagnostic scanners, and computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding of automotive repair and assembly processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, repair orders, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other quality frameworks is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect vehicles, components, and systems at various stages (production, post-repair, pre-delivery, etc.) to ensure they meet internal and external quality standards.
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections using checklists, measuring tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, non-conformities, and deviations from specifications.
  • Work closely with technicians, engineers, and supervisors to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update inspection records, reports, and quality documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards, OEM guidelines, and safety regulations.
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection tools and equipment.
  • Train or guide team members on quality standards and inspection procedures when needed.
