Reports to: Dealer Group General Manager

Essential Duties:

  • Determine and communicate monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of unit sales, gross profits objectives, and departmental profit.
  • Forecast monthly with each team member to establish sales objectives.
  • Make recommendations to the General Manager for short and long-range advertising, sales promotions, staffing needs, lease promotions, compensation plans, Customer handling, Sales Consultant evaluations, and other operational issues
  • Meet with each team member, each day, to review prior day’s results and today’s action or work plan
  • Manage advertising campaigns
  • Conduct Sales Meetings
  • Provide ongoing training for team members.
  • Monitor teams prospecting efforts and effectiveness
  • Manage Multi-Brand inventory both online and on lot.
  • Monitors Brands adherence to standards for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining vehicle displays
  • Monitor DMS and other systems utilization in support of measurement and tracking of Dealership Retail Sales performance

Other Qualifications:
Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions. Minimum of five years of automotive sales management experience. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication skills. Verifiable references for management skills. Proven team building track record.
Working Conditions:
The Sales Manager / General Sales Manager works both indoors and out, moving throughout the Dealership facility and vehicle displays to communicate with the Dealer, fellow Managers, Sales Consultants, and Customers. Weekends, evenings, and occasional holiday hours may be required and are market driven. Must be able to physically operate a vehicle as shipped by the manufacturer in a safe manner as required by inventory management responsibilities.
