CSN Herbers West is looking to onboard an experienced Automotive Service Technician to their team in Edmonton, AB. Assisting the Repair Planners with providing accurate mechanical estimates and servicing damaged systems to ensure that vehicles are safe and operational after a collision.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic or equivalent.
  • 5 or more years’ experience required.
  • Complete working knowledge of the trade and related equipment along with the ability to apply the knowledge in diagnosis and repair work.
  • Able to understand, communicate, read and write English at a level needed to meet job related task and safety requirements.
  • MUST have your own tools.
  • The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental standards and procedures and a commitment to safe work habits.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and time management skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill team objectives as an active positive employee and co-worker.
  • Strength and stamina required to handle heavy tools, manual dexterity, creativity, patience and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities
  • Work with computer diagnostic programs as well as charts, technical manuals and experience to manage troubleshooting activities.
  • Raise vehicles using hydraulic jack or hoist.
  • Repair automotive systems damaged in the course of collision, including: electrical, steering, suspension, breaking, air conditioning, etc.
  • Complete preventive maintenance such as minor tune-ups, tire replacements, wheel alignments, tire/wheel mount and balance.
  • Replace and adjusts headlights; install and repair accessories, such as: radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers.
  • Full conventional vehicle frame replacement.
  • ADAS system calibrations.
  • Reassemble, adjust and test the repaired mechanism.
  • Vehicle road testing pre and post repair.
