JOB OVERVIEW

As an Automotive Technician with a 310S certification, or Combination 310S/310T certification you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a range of vehicles, including passenger cars and medium-duty commercial vehicles and Trailers. The role involves advanced diagnostics, routine servicing, and maintaining high-quality standards. You will excel in providing accurate diagnoses, delivering quality estimates, and ensuring top-notch repair services that meet or exceed customer expectations. Your commitment to customer satisfaction will be demonstrated through effective issue resolution and adherence to agreed-upon service guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose vehicles for issues and concerns, including conducting road tests for accurate assessment.
  • Determine the necessary repairs required for various vehicle issues.
  • Document diagnostics, repair work performed, parts used, and time spent on work orders clearly and accurately
  • Perform repairs and services on vehicles as per provided instructions by the Service Advisor or Management.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors or Management regarding job orders, needs, or any arising issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the workspace by putting away tools, disposing of garbage, and cleaning the floor space after each job.
  • Order parts as approved by Service Advisor or Management, ensuring timely availability.
  • Communicate repair estimates to customers when the front office is busy, or assistance is needed.
  • Clean and maintain shop equipment, including hoists, tire equipment, hand tools, benches, and other tools of the trade.
  • Communicate with Service Advisors or Management about low inventory items to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Provide customer support by driving them home or picking them up after repairs are completed.
  • Manage and maintain cleanliness in shared spaces, such as the kitchen, lunchroom, and front office.
  • Maintain personal tools in good working condition and report damaged or missing shop equipment to Management promptly.
  • Contribute to inventory management by participating in regular counts.
  • Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and updates provided by Management.
  • Ensure a safe workplace by clearing doorways and applying sand or salt in the winter to prevent slipping.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality control for all work performed.
  • Shuttle commercial client vehicles to and from the auto shop when required.
  • Supervise, guide, and assist apprentices during the workday upon the request or requirement of the Service Advisor or Management.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $37.50-$40.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 42.5 per week
