ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

GRiP Tire & Auto is looking for a full-time Automotive Technician based in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure safe, reliable transportation for our customers.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for delivering high-quality automotive service and repairs while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on gas vehicles
  • Diagnosing complex issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Reading and interpreting schematics, technical manuals, and repair documents
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the shop
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assisting in training and mentoring junior technicians
  • Working on fleet vehicles as part of a rotation
  • Upholding company standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction

ABOUT YOU

To qualify, you will need to be a fully certified Red Seal Automotive Technician or a strong 4th-year apprentice with proven gas repair experience, with hands-on experience with advanced diagnostics and repair across multiple vehicle types. A valid driver’s licence will also be required.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience with European vehicles, including gas drivability diagnostics
  • Background in electric vehicle major component repairs
  • Knowledge of ADAS calibration, programming, and advanced diagnostics
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection certification
  • Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documents
  • Familiarity with fleet service as part of a rotation
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
