Optimize technician skill and trouble shooting skills to manage workflow through a busy automotive service departmentDepartment efficiency and timely throughput is vital to the success of the department and to the asst service managers and customers whose vehicles are being serviced or repaired

Responsibilities

  • matching technician skills with incoming vehicle issues, maximizing technician time, efficiency, skill sets and education levels for quickest, best repair result
  • assisting in trouble shooting vehicle issues, training technicians on proper repair procedures
  • acting as liaison between asst service mgrs and technicians
  • assisting with identifying customer symptoms, complaint verification as well as quality control
  • assisting serivce department managers with team management and shop morale
  • dispatching work to achieve customer promise times and proper distribution by skill set and work mix
  • anything else asked within the scope of the service department

Qualifications

  • previous related position and experience; ie., automotive service department, parts department management
  • high level of mechanical and technical automotive repair experience; ie., master technician
  • proven ability to manage a team
  • successful previous team orientation
