Description

Our client in the automotive industry located in the Durham region, is looking to hire an Embedded Software Developer with experience in automotive embedded systems, control software development, and vehicle dynamics.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design, code generation (C-code), and firmware deployment.
  • Experience developing AI-driven control software (neural networks, fuzzy logic, machine learning).
  • Experience modeling and controlling electromechanical systems, including BLDC motors; FOC motor control is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and the role of braking in stability, control, and safety.
  • Experience in projects guided by ASPICE and/or ISO26262 development processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex, multidisciplinary problems.
  • Experience with system-level testing, integration, and design verification.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Automotive, Software, Electrical Engineering.
  • FOC motor control.
  • Automotive Experience.
  • Previous brake system experience.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and debug embedded control software for electromechanical brake systems.
  • Support and lead integration activities across internal and customer platforms.
  • Develop testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies (software, scripts, and hardware).
  • Execute system integration and test activities; identify, track, and resolve critical issues.
  • Build and support instrumented test setups, lab configurations, and functional mock-ups.
  • Conduct integration testing at internal and external facilities.
  • Collaborate on test planning, execution, documentation, and design verification reports.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and cross-functional integration discussions.
  • Support manufacturing test strategy, ramp-up activities, and failure analysis.
