We are currently looking for an Automotive Technical Trainer at our Training Center in Richmond, BC
Under the leadership of the Manager, Group Academy, this position is primarily responsible for providing technical training to all Volkswagen and Audi dealership service personnel in the application of automotive technologies and process. This includes theoretical and hands-on, diagnostic, maintenance and repair procedures and is delivered through a wide range of blended learning options.
Based at our training center in Richmond,BC, this position will be responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of the training centre, along with the accurate scheduling, reporting and maintenance of classes through the Learning Management System [LMS].
This position is also required in the review, maintenance and development of course content.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Diploma and/or equivalent work experience
- Provincial Technicians License or Interprovincial License must be held by the applicant followed by necessary skills, required.
- 5 + years’ experience in a technical automotive position within an OEM Dealership
- 3+ years’ experience in training or teaching considered an asset.
- Must have a valid passport required.
- Logical thought process and willingness to adapt
- Highly competent facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and well organized - a continuous student of automotive technology
- Personal Computer skills in the major office applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Access, etc.
- Team Player - ability to build and sustain credibility with dealer and internal teams
- Customer focus and process orientation
- Attention to detail and results driven
- Must have a valid passport
- Must be flexible with overtime
Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be an advocate for the VW and Audi Brands
- Provide technical instruction, based on the Service Training curriculum for dealership technicians and VGCA corporate employees.
- Participate in and plan a continuous three month rolling Service Training schedule, which includes entering the schedules in the Learning Management System (LMS) and closing the rosters after every class.
- Collaborate in the review, maintenance and development of curricula, specific courses and technical education methods.
- Support the New Model Launches and New Technologies [Planning & Content].
- Managing the Learning Center for the day-to-day operations and maintaining assets such as, but not limited to, vehicles [and vehicle requirements], equipment, storage and security procedures.
