SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate III in Light or Heavy Engine Mechanics (or equivalent) and have completed an Australian Apprenticeship (or equivalent) and hold a Tradesperson licence
  • Master technician qualification will be highly regarded
  • Prior dealership or manufacturer specific experience will be highly regarded
  • Valid NSW Class C driver’s license (Manual and Automatic)
  • Must have permanent work rights in Australia with no restrictions

Responsibilities

As a Technician you will be responsible for the diagnoses, servicing and repair of vehicles. You will carry out this responsibility and accomplish targets through proper utilisation of technical skills.

The Technician will:

  • Conduct a complete range of motor vehicle diagnoses and fault finding in accordance with the Australian Industry Standards and Practice
  • Identify mechanical issues, and understands the repair method to conduct and resolve the issue
  • Complete general servicing and maintenance tasks.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to make repairs and undertake services to benchmark industry standards and to company expectations on quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment, including hoists and wheel-balancing equipment
  • Read and interpret fault reports, maintenance and inspections forms
  • Fill out and maintain job cards as supplied
  • Assist new and existing apprentices help further their skills and knowledge and provide supervision
  • Regularly complete training to further develop professional knowledge and skills
  • Adhere to all Workplace Health and Safety obligations in accordance with the laws
  • Road test vehicles to identify performance related concerns as well as verifying repairs
