Job Description Europcar Australia is seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our Sydney State Office workshop, working full time in a professional, dealership-standard environment. This role is ideal for a dealership-trained technician seeking strong technical work without customer-facing pressure, working on a modern, multi-brand fleet with an average vehicle age of just 12 months, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles. About the Workshop Clean, organised, and well-equipped fleet workshop Average vehicle age: 12 months, strong focus on light passenger cars All major brands - broad technical exposure Petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles No retail customers, upselling, or flat-rate pressure Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications Carry out fault diagnosis and rectification on late-model vehicles Use diagnostic scan tools and service information across multiple brands Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and fleet readiness checks Perform tyre inspections, rotations, and minor repairs as required Maintain accurate service records using computer-based systems Support workshop efficiency by monitoring parts usage and stock levels About You Trade-qualified Automotive Mechanic (Certificate III or equivalent) Current full manual driver's licence Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills on late-model vehicles Comfortable working across multiple brands and platforms Able to work independently with minimal supervision Diesel experience advantageous Hybrid and EV exposure highly regarded (training supported) Computer literacy for service records and diagnostic About Europcar Mobility Group Europcar Mobility Group is a global mobility player, with 75 years of mobility services expertise and a leading position in Europe. Car rental will see the light a few years later, across the Atlantic, but its development will be stopped by the first and then by the Second World Wars. In the aftermath of the war, a Parisian entrepreneur revived the idea: “If you can’t afford to buy a car, why not rent one when you need it?”. His name was Raoul-Louis Mattei and in 1949, he created "L'Abonnement Automobile": a company that would later become the Compagnie Internationale Europcars, then Europcar. Its headquarters, located 11 rue du Champ de Mars also included a rental agency. The company's success was rapid, as car rental responded to a real need. Responsibilities
The Automotive Technician will perform scheduled servicing and maintenance on late-model vehicles, as well as carry out fault diagnosis and rectification. They will also conduct pre-delivery inspections and maintain accurate service records.
