Bayway Cadillac Southwest -GM is actively hiring a skilled Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our high-volume, technician-focused service team in Baytown, TX. We’re a busy GM dealership with a long-standing reputation for excellence in customer service, and we’re looking for techs who take pride in quality workmanship and want to grow their careers with a dealership that truly values them.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an Automotive Technician at Bayway Cadillac Southwest, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles with an emphasis on powertrain and electrical systems. You’ll work with the latest diagnostic technology in a fast-paced, team-driven environment that promotes professional development and advancement.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic (GM experience preferred)
  • Proficient in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of multiple automotive systems
  • Experience in powertrain, electrical systems, and general maintenance required
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
  • Knowledge of dealership operations and familiarity with GM systems also a plus
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high-quality standards
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • ASE and/or GM certifications preferred but not required

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues
  • Conduct routine services: oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and fluid checks
  • Repair and replace powertrain systems including engines and transmissions
  • Troubleshoot and repair automotive electrical systems and components
  • Perform light auto body repairs and component replacement when needed
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of services performed and parts used
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair needs
  • Keep a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with dealership policies
