JOB SUMMARY

We are looking to add a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our team at Onyx Motors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in automotive repair. We mostly deal with Domestic, Japanese, and some Korean vehicles. This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The Automotive Technician will work with both power tools and hand tools, demonstrating proficiency in assembling parts and performing welding tasks as needed. We are looking for a technician that is comfortable performing the following:
- Diagnose Mechanical and Electrical issues on a vehicle
- Perform Engine Swap
- Perform Transmission Swap
-Perform Differential swap
- Perform Parts Replacements
- Ability to diagnose and fix electrical issues is a HUGE plus
- MUST be very organized and punctual
- MUST have a collaborative mindset and open to team work
- MUST have prior experience or education in Automotive repair

EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic in a dealership or independent shop setting is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use diagnostic equipment effectively.
• Familiarity with automotive repair processes, including electrical systems, engine performance, and suspension systems.
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification from an accredited automotive program is a HUGE plus.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Assemble vehicle components as required during repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed on vehicles for customer reference.
• Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques to enhance skills.
• Help with drives and other tasks at the dealership as needed.
