JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our team in a hybrid position working as both a Technician and a Service Advisor as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, and a passion for automotive repair and exceptional customer service .
This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely while in the shop, and communicating both requirements and recommendations to customers in a clear and concise manner. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment while utilizing both hand and power tools, being responsible for providing exceptional customer service, and acting as a liaison between customers and the automotive service technicians.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in automotive repair with hands-on experience in diagnosing vehicle problems.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Certificate.
  • Minimum 1 year service advising experience.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as necessary.
  • Assemble components according to schematics and manufacturer specifications.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through continuous learning.
  • Communicate clearly with Service Manager what customers’ required and recommended work are for both the current and future appointments.
  • Greet customers and assist them with their automotive service needs.
  • Listen to customers’ concerns and accurately document issues.
  • Provide recommendations on necessary repairs and maintenance based on mechanical knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with the service technicians to ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service area.
