Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Automotive Test Engineer. Hourly pay range $22-23

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently or in teams.
  • Familiarity with automotive systems and diagnostic tools (e.g., TECH 2, VLT, CAT).
  • Understanding of serial data protocols (CAN, GMLAN, UART, etc.).
  • Experience in LabVIEW programming and reading electrical schematics.
  • 3+ years in automotive electrical/mechanical testing preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree equivalent training preferred.
  • ASE certification preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience for entry-level roles.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans for diagnostic and ECU flash programming applications.
  • Validate software for vehicle communication systems and TECH 2 core releases.
  • Document issues and resolutions using MS TFS/Azure DevOps.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical testing and light vehicle disassembly as needed.
  • Design and automate test systems using LabVIEW and other tools.
  • Analyze test data, report findings, and recommend design revisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and attend development meetings.
  • Maintain safety, housekeeping, and lab standards.
