Position Overview: The Used Car Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the used car department with a co-manager. This candidates most important role is improving the sales performance of the used vehicle department. The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader with a passion training, TO's, working the CRM, and a proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams. This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills, as well as a deep understanding of the used car market. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy & Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement sales strategies to drive used vehicle sales. Analyze sales trends, identify growth opportunities, and adjust tactics as needed. Work closely with the management team to ensure department goals and profitability are met. Track key performance metrics and report on sales performance regularly. Inventory Acquisition & Management: Identify and acquire quality used vehicles that meet market demand and customer needs. Manage inventory levels to optimize sales opportunities while maintaining inventory profitability. Ensure all vehicles are priced competitively and accurately based on market data. Oversee the reconditioning process of used vehicles to ensure they meet dealership standards for quality and safety. Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale sources, auctions, and other vendors to secure inventory. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, train, and motivate a team of sales consultants to consistently meet and exceed sales targets. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on customer satisfaction and professional growth. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer interaction. Provide ongoing performance feedback and set clear expectations for team members. Pricing & Appraisals: Accurately price vehicles based on market trends, condition, and dealership goals. Oversee vehicle appraisals, ensuring all appraisals are competitive, fair, and in line with the market. Regularly review and adjust pricing to maintain competitive advantage and profitability. Customer Satisfaction: Ensure a seamless and positive customer experience from initial contact through vehicle delivery. Address customer concerns and ensure resolution in a timely and professional manner. Strive to meet or exceed customer satisfaction benchmarks consistently. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in used car management or a similar role in the automotive industry. Proven track record of managing and growing a successful used vehicle department. Strong knowledge of the used car market, including pricing strategies, appraisals, and inventory management. Experience in overseeing vehicle reconditioning processes to maintain high standards of quality. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team. Strong negotiation and closing skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate market trends and adjust pricing accordingly.
