OUR OPPORTUNITY

Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D6R7N7R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton
We are seeking an Autonomous Technician to join our team Fortescue. This role is crucial for the maintenance and optimal operation of our large-scale autonomous mining equipment. As part of our Mobile Maintenance teams, you will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our autonomous haulage and drilling fleets. With a focus on safety and schedule compliance, this role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of mining technology in a dynamic and challenging environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • An Australian recognized Trade Certificate, with a preference for qualifications in HD Mechanics or Auto Electrician.
  • Experience in the mining or heavy industry is desirable, providing a strong foundation for understanding the unique challenges of the sector.
  • Previous experience with maintaining an autonomous fleet is highly regarded, indicating a familiarity with the specific demands and technologies involved.
  • A high regard for safety, demonstrating an understanding of the importance of following protocols and contributing to a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks on autonomous mining equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct diagnostics and fault finding to pre-emptively identify and resolve issues.
  • Carry out workshop and in-pit duties as required, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with all Mobile Maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance, working towards common goals and maintaining high standards of work.
  • Strictly adhere to the company’s safety policy and procedures in all activities undertaken, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.
