We are currently seeking a passionate individual who is eager to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare environment. Coordinates, operates and monitors Auto transfusion devices and other ancillary monitoring and life support equipment during surgical procedures. Provides these services to patients of all ages, neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Responsibilities Able to demonstrate, through case performance, competencies inherent in the performance of autotransfusion and ancillary device monitoring. Able to use a variety of cell salvage techniques and equipment, including rapid infusion systems. They also ensure that all processes and procedures are sterile and meet regulatory compliance standards. Sets up, operates, trouble shoots and monitors the cell saver machine and ancillary devices including but not limited to: cardiopulmonary related life support equipment, mini lab, and intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps. Demonstrates ability selecting, setting up, operating, and monitoring of cell saver equipment before, during or after surgery. Working under the direction of physicians, surgeons, or perfusionists. Documents according to policy and direction from perfusionist and participates in Quality data collection. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Must obtain PBMT certification (Perioperative Blood Management Technologist) within 6 months of hire, assuming 50 cases have been performed. Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, certified or obtained within three months of hire. Bachelors of Science degree (desired). 5 years experience in clinically based hospital employment (desired). Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose. Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
Responsibilities
