Job Details Job Location: Abingdon Health & Rehab Center - ABINGDON, VA 24211 Position Type: Part Time Job Shift: Day JOB SUMMARY: Auxiliary Aides will assist CNAs in the delivery of quality care services to our residents by helping to meet their non-direct care needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Transporting patients who are seated in wheelchairs to activities or the dining room. 2. Clean residents’ closets and bedside stands, remove trash from the residents’ rooms, and serve meal trays to residents who can feed themselves. 3. Make unoccupied beds. 4. Restock clean linen carts. 5. Transport soiled linen barrels to the laundry. 6. Provide residents with fresh ice and water. 7. Take the H.S. snacks to residents who can feed themselves. 8. Answer the unit telephone and direct calls. 9. Assist visitors as needed, where no direct resident contact is required. 10. Maintain the neatness of the shower rooms/clean utility rooms/soiled utility rooms and unit pantry. 11. Replace empty glove boxes in resident rooms. 12. Read/write letters for residents if requested. 13. Answer call lights to determine need only and provide help if no patient contact is required. 14. Complete other appropriate duties as requested that are in keeping with the "no direct patient contact" requirement. 15. Assist with activities if appropriate. 16. Perform tasks as assigned by the charge nurse while following all applicable company policies and meeting all State/Federal regulations. Qualifications PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Prolonged periods of standing and walking 2. Prolonged periods of pulling, pushing, and bending 3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
