WHAT YOU WILL DO: AV Commissioning Field Technician role for new office builds involves verifying, testing, and fine-tuning all audio-visual systems (screens, mics, control panels, video conferencing) during construction and handover to ensure they meet design specs and owner needs, requiring deep tech skills, coordination with contractors/architects, troubleshooting, and documentation, for seamless functionality from day one. The AV Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the final testing, configuration, and handover of integrated audio-visual systems in a new corporate office environment. This role ensures that all meeting spaces are fully operational, networked, and optimized for Google Meet video conferencing, adhering to design specifications and quality standards. This position requires 50% travel globally KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Google Meet Configuration: Configure and commissioning of Google Meet hardware (e.g., Logitech Meet kits), including touch controllers, cameras, microphones, and speakers. Systems Commissioning & Testing: Perform on-site commissioning of integrated AV systems, validating signal flow, connectivity, and functionality of all components (DSP, displays, switchers, cameras). Google Workspace Integration: Ensure seamless integration of Google Meet kits with Google Calendar for one-touch joining and room scheduling. Audio DSP Tuning: Testing for echo cancellation, microphone gain structure, and optimal audio quality during video conferencing. Network Configuration: Configure IP-addressable AV devices, VLANs, and network settings to ensure reliable video traffic. Quality Assurance & Punchlist: Conduct thorough QA/QC checks to ensure installations meet industry standards and project SOW (Scope of Work); resolve "punch list" items before client turnover. Documentation & Training: Document final system configurations, test results, and provide user training/demonstrations to clients. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software issues during the commissioning phase with integrators. This role requires on-site work, often in a new, active construction, or renovation project site. Physical ability to work from ladders (up to 35 ft) and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.) may be required. Global travel to project sites will be required, estimated 50% of the time. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Experience: 3 - 5+ years of experience in AV installation, commissioning, or field technician, preferably in corporate environments. Video Conferencing Expertise: Proven experience with Google Meet hardware; experience with Zoom Rooms or Microsoft Teams Rooms is a plus. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of audio-visual hardware (DSP, codecs, cameras, mics, displays) and networking fundamentals (IP addressing, PoE, Wi-Fi). Control Systems: Experience with programming or debugging control systems (e.g., Q-SYS). Certifications: CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or CTS-I (Installation) is preferred. Soft Skills: Ability to work on-site in a construction environment, collaborate with contractors/IT teams, and manage deadlines.
