JOB SUMMARY
AV/IT support Technician plays a critical role in supporting clients, administrative meeting spaces, and AV specific spaces by providing technical support for integrated Audio Video (AV) technology and the academic printer fleet. The Technician serves as the first responder and is responsible for independently resolving most technical issues they encounter.
The Technician conducts repairs, replacements and assists with upgrades as needed. They monitor service requests, assist in identifying areas for improvement, and collaborates with the teams to develop and implement enhancements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for integrated AV technology
- Help to ensure high availability of AV technology in all spaces across our client’s site
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
- Conducting preventative maintenance on systems in addition to repairs and replacement of component(s) as necessary.
- Working with the team to find the root cause of issues and implement permanent solutions and troubleshooting common issues.
- Provide training and education for clients on how to use the technology effectively as well as how to troubleshoot common issues.
- Monitor service requests, prioritize tasks, and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Identify areas for improvement in AV technology systems and processes.
- Collaborate with various teams to develop and implement enhancements to improve the reliability and functionality of systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate records of service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
KPIs such as first call resolutions, knowledge transfer, exceptional customer service, and effective troubleshooting will be used as training and performance ratings.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent work experience with integrated AV equipment.
- CTS Certification; CompTIA: Fundamentals, A+ Network are assets.
- ITIL, HDI, Project Management certifications/best practices are assets.
- A passion to learn and grow professionally, staying updated on new technologies and best practices.
Experience:
- 2 to 4 years in Help Desk with strong AV experience OR 2 to 4 years as an AV technologist with a strong IT background.
- Proven experience providing technical support for integrated AV technology systems.
- A track record of meeting or exceeding KPIs.
- Network, PC and Printer troubleshooting skills.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integrated component issues
- The ability to work independently to resolve technical problems.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Experience with repair and replacement of AV equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
